September 5-7, 2014.
Close out your summer with an exquisite weekend of peace and quiet at this private historic lodge in the mountains of Maine. Enjoy hiking, canoeing, or napping in the hammock within the structure of meditation sits, shared silence, shared meals and ample R&R. The retreat begins at Borestone Parking area where you are shuttled up to the boat launch and motored across Sunrise and Noonday ponds to the Lodge. Accomocations are twin or double beds with shared baths in a very comfortable camp setting. Some years have been warm enough to swim in the pristine, fish-free ponds. Other years, we’ve bundled up and watched crystal clear skies chock full of stars. With a chill, we light a blazing fire. The dining room is heated!
The retreat includes all meals (a delicious vegetarian menu, no alcohol), meditation instruction, 3 “sits” daily, optional hiking and canoeing and a blanket of peace and quiet to nurture your soul and spirit all weekend. We share silence from Friday evening through Sunday morning creating space for each participant to dive into their own retreat while sharing the beauty and feast for the senses.
Please note: There is space on the porch for individual yoga practice, however there are no guided yoga classes. Please feel free to bring your mat! All levels of meditation experience are welcome! The only requirement is a sincere intention to practice and to maintain the social silence. Participation in the meditation sits is required.
